“If a woman has to choose between catching a fly ball and saving an infant’s life, she will choose to save the infant’s life without even considering if there is a man on base. — Dave Barry

Saturday’s weekend challenge on partner Susan and my alternate site was the word FOCUS.
Many times in the game of professional baseball the salaried athletes are guilty of making a judgement error now and again.
Some players over run the base or in the rare moment fail to tag the bag when a pop up flyball is caught. Pitchers throwing a wild pitch allow bases to be stolen and errors charged to the guilty party.
In the situation above there is no doubt that the runner is safe and that both he and the baseman have no idea where the ball is heading.
This was a saved by the ball opportunity.
I’ve never watched a baseball match in the flesh nor watched one on TV, we don’t have the game here. And talking of flesh, does the game normally include half naked men?

Ah, kind of a fun game rather than a serious one. That was one very hot day, wow! 🙂

It was a spirited game to be sure. There was lots of beer on the scene that day.

Only if we’re lucky, Sue. 😆 I do love baseball, though.

Good morning Lois. I don’t think we’ll ever watch a nationally televised baseball game where the players are dressed so scantilly unless the guys from Chippendales decide to form “A League of their own”.
