Cleaning this historic arch is tricky

This week’s Saturday challenge on partner Susan and my alternate site was ARCH.

The Gateway Arch, a 630 foot ( 192 m tall) monument located in St. Louis Missouri, is stainless steel and was built in the form of a weighted catenary arch ( a curve formed by a wire, rope, or chain hanging freely from two points and forming a U shape).

 Protective safety gear

It is the world’s tallest arch and Missouri’s tallest accessible building.

Considered to be the world’s tallest man-made structure in the Western Hemisphere it was officially dedicated to the American people and is commonly referred to as “The Gateway to the West.

This popular tourist attraction is showing signs of wear and tear on its shiny exterior.

This is what is being done to inspect its exterior skin.
