“When people cheat in any arena, they diminish themselves-they threaten their own self-esteem and their relationships with others by undermining the trust they have in their ability to succeed and in their ability to be true.”―
This week’s Wednesday Challenge on partner Susan and my alternate site, Weekly Prompts, was the word INFRACTIONS.
An “infraction” is not the same as an “in” fraction that has become popular with math students.
The word infraction is defined as a violation or an infringement.
The young couple in this photo were enjoying a warm and carefree Sunday afternoon nonchalantly downloading power for the electronic gizmos stored away safely in their backpacks.
The power drain lasted about two hours when the male arrived at the scene, got comfortable, removed his shoes and prepared to siphon power for his personal use.
It should be mentioned that they were former residents at this site who had vacated their suite on April 30.
It was a warm summer day so his female friend thoughtfully brought him a bottled water to quench his thirst while he busily toiled outside in the sunshine.
He had been there two hours before she arrived and they both sipped water and powered up their toys for an additional hour. Quite the afternoon.
I spoke with a maintenance worker the next day and asked him to turn off the power to the outdoor plug in outlet.
Life in the big city does have its benefits.
I brought the photo to the rental office and the manageress there said these folks were not previous tenants. She assumed they were homeless people looking for a quick fix to their power needs.
