“It’s spring fever. That is what the name of it is. And when you’ve got it, you want—oh, you don’t quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!”―

As the sun’s rays finally begin to penetrate an almost impenetrable permafrost sky the melting and disappearance of winter snows becomes a slow and arduous process.
Spring’s vernal equinox is set for March 20th and the last vestiges of winter’s snows will eventually vanish but the mountains of frozen ice and sand and crushed rocks used to make streets and parking lots safer are still biding their time as they always do this time of year.
The front end loaders deposited the snow in this small park on the property where I reside. In a few months children will be playing in the tree branches and tenants will leisurely walk their dog’s here for their daily constitutional.
It is this stressful “in between time” that is so frustrating for many people.
But as always happens Old Man Winter will take his seasonal cue and bow out gracefully.
The ice man cometh in like a lion and hopefully leave as gently as a lamb.
And sometimes just when it’s nearly gone the snow comes back.. 😉
