T H E  B E A T  O F  A  D I F F E R E N T  D R U M M E R ?

For the majority of you in a relationship I offer you a hearty Happy Valentine Day.

The day is filled with the usual emphasis on coupling and not uncoupling, holding hands and not bearing arrows of venom and overt resentment. Loving couples do not experience such negative episodes in their relationship.

Florists eagerly rally around Dan Cupid in their approval of this one day dedicated to “lucky couples”. Restaurants and spas and even bread and breakfast inns welcome this day as the highlight of their post Christmas slow time.

There are other groups of people who experience a cold chill u p and down their spine whenever February 15th rolls around. These are all the uncoupled singles out there who forget to remember that this day is even on the calendar. 

There really is no Happy Single Day celebration even though there should be.

But I guess the chocolatiers and flower industry moguls would not want to equally welcome a day dedicated to all those folks who are currently journeying through life alone.

To all those folks I wish a very Happy Singles Awareness Day.

Pamper yourself. Buy that box of candy or floral display you see that strikes your fancy.

Remember that loving yourself first is not a crime.

Go for it. Enjoy the day. Be optimistic and not bitter.

Give yourself a break and a gift. 🙂
