The biggest challenge of being a pastry chef is that, unlike other types of chefs, you can’t throw things together at a farmer’s market. When you’re working with baking powder and a formula, you have to be exact. If not, things can go wrong. — Carla Hall

In a previous blog article I highlighted one of the submitted gingerbread house displays that was drawng a lot of customer commentary and interest.
Today I have included photos of all the entries that the employees at the Canada Safeway outlet at Callingwood Mall in Edmonton have constructed and submitted to keep the spirit of Christmas warmth and sharing alive and well.
There are eleven entries in this contest but the main theme is one of fun and sharing.
The entries will not be sold as the location near the front door and the passing foot traffic will bring dust over the entries. They still could be considered attractive eye candy .
The competition will continue until December 19th when the winner will be announced.
At this point in time there is no clearly defined winner . All the entries are made from real ginger bread and the effort and the spirit of giving from all the store staff is heartwarming and refreshing at this time of year.
A tip of the hat to all those folks who are trying to bring joy and perhaps a smile to all those customers who visit the store.
Great work guys and gals!
