They’re back in the saddle again

“Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.”+- Mark Twain

It’s 7:55 a.m. An overcast Monday morning. You look out your bedroom window and see these two guys making their way slowly but surely to a nearby bottle return depot. The depot opens at 8 a.m. and they hope they will be the first in line today.

You smile and say to yourself all is right with the world. These gentlemen are on the job again and spring has returned to the land despite the presence of the COVID 19 virus.

I noted in a previous article a few weeks ago that the bottle and can collectors started their collection activities later this year than normal. As soon as the snow melts and the weather gets a tad warmer a fleet of such independent agents are roaming the city streets in search of discarded bottles and cans.

A few of these ambitious folks expand their product line and collect household items  ( tiny electric fans, lamps and a host of other items) with the hopes that these rummaged item can be converted to cash.

The current virus has not diminished their drive and desires to cash in on discarded goods.

A tip of the hat to them and their colleagues.
