This week’s Wednesday Challenge on partner Susan and my alternate site , WEEKLY PROMPTS, was INSIDE OUT.
The COVID 19 virus has forced many business owners small and large to reconsider their own survival strategy for the next little while at least. This is a time for compromise and creative thinking. A time when necessity forces folks to make those hard decisions about their financial well being.
Muggn’z Family Restaurant and Pub is located in Edmonton, Alberta in the Marketplace at Callingwood shopping center. This well known locally owned restaurant was closed for two months and lost income due to the pandemic’s influence.
When the pub opened its doors recently passersby noticed that there was an innovation taking place. According to one of the pub’s associates Rob “the pub asked the mall manager if they could add an outdoor section to the restaurant.”
“This was the first time they had ever considered such an operation but successfully convinced the site’s managerial team to grant them permission to do so.” He added that they were given the go ahead to do so.
“Customers love this new look and soon will be able to dine outside” he said.
He added that the tables are spaced six feet apart and the menus are disposable. Cash and credit/debit card transactions are welcomed.
The restaurant will be open from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.
“People enjoy eating breakfast here ” he said.
This outdoor seating arrangement and customer response to it will determine whether or not they will do the same thing next summer.

This is one example where the topsy-turvy world of COVID 19 has led to a positive outcome for positive and creative thinkers.
