The ups and downs of this Easter

No place to go

“The Easter egg symbolizes our ability to break out of the hardened, protective shell we’ve surrounded ourselves with.”- Siobhan Shaw

This weekends challenge on partner Susan and my alternate site is Up and Down..  It can truly be said that this Easter season does have more negatives than positives associated with it.

Social isolation has affected the way people worship, interact with one another and the way millions are now handling the negative effects of cabin fever.

Millions of people are out of work, seeking unemployment benefits, driving their cars to designated sites to receive food baskets and generally the global economy sucks.

The Easter Bunny this year is also out of work. Self isolation and the loss of revenue from candy sales will probably have the little guy waiting patiently in line for his carrot rations. It’s tough to visit so many homes and not jeopardize himself and the children who receive his seasonal stipend of chocolate Easter eggs and other goodies.

On the positive side of things this COVID 19 pandemic will pass and its reign of death and terror will be over. The social distancing and self isolation practices are working. We all have to persevere ad know that there will be a solution to this tragic dilemma.

The annual Easter egg hunt has been replaced by the more adult and responsible search for a cure for the COVID 19 virus. On the upside of things the scientific communities of the world are banding together to rid the world of this stealthy grim reaper.

On behalf of partner Susan and myself we wish you all a very Happy Easter. Stay safe. Take care of yourself and one another. God bless you all.
