Thankful for the little things in life

“A little “thank you” that you will say to someone for a “little favour” shown to you is a key to unlock the doors that hide unseen “greater favours”. Learn to say “thank you” and why not?” ― Israelmore Ayivor

The Wednesday’s Word Challenge on Susan and my alternate site, Weekly Prompts, is GIVING THANKS and is directly tied into the upcoming American Thanksgiving holiday celebrated tomorrow November 28th.

The day is one of national observance in which a spirit of gratitude and thankfulness reigns supreme. Everyone is grateful for the many blessings and   opportunities they have experienced over the past twelve month period.

Should such personal thanks giving be limited to a single day of the year or are there daily opportunities and smaller miracles occurring every day around us that we either refuse to notice or even worse fail to recognize as being worthy of a “thank you”?

I am quite sure that the couple in the above photograph are grateful for one another’s company. For the casual observer it is a comical oddity. For the participants involved a matter of love, pride and existence.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all.  – gc

  1. As you know we don’t have Thanksgiving in the U.K. Christmas is our holiday period, usually for a few days, and we do make a very big fuss of it with big family gatherings and parties. It is the time to count our blessings, wish each other happiness and raise a glass to those who have gone before us. 🙂
