Reality’s a constantly changing prism

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them – that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” – Lao Tzu

This weekend’s Photo Challenge on my partner Susan and my alternate website WEEKLY PROMPTS is RECTANGULAR PRISM.

In her blog article Susan asks the following: “in a geometric sense how many planes does a rectangular prism have? “

That is a good challenge question to pose but I am not a mathematician and had to ponder this challenge for a long time.

Life is a series of ever changing events and our definitions of things is at times firmly entrenched in our experiences of life at any particular moment in time. And time is fluid.

When in doubt I look out my office window and lo and behold the answer hit  me right between the eyes.

The female in the above photo must have been on her coffee break and was totally engaged in her cell phone conversation and momentarily oblivious to the world scurrying by her.

That being said  I wanted the photo to illustrate the fluidity of her immediate surroundings where she sat transfixed on both her cell phone and cigarette.

The weathered wooden pallets she sat on and the dark lines on the wall behind her provided the reality props I needed to encapsulate the photo’s story line. – gc

  1. Nicely done!

I love that we always collaborate on our choices on Weekly Prompts, but surprise the other with our choices on our personal blogs, well, most of the time. It’s part of the fun, wondering what the other will come up with. Thank you 🙂
