“Any supervisor worth his salt would rather deal with people who attempt too much than with those who try too little.” — Lee Iacocca

I was driving north this morning on a currently under construction main street when traffic ahead of my vehicle slowed to a crawl. I looked a few car lengths ahead and noticed that there were two groups of “supervisory staff” conducting a pep talk with their crew and watching them work.
It was 8:30 a.m. and the shift started I assumed a full thirty minutes prior to this impromptu staff meeting. The two men on the far right are watching three men working on their hands and knees while the group on the left were sitting around making plans for I don’t know what.
It seemed to me that there was a lot of high priced man power sitting on their bottoms while on other parts of the same street further south of this site the men were huffing and puffing and doing their jobs.
Sometimes in life it all depends not only on who you know but also where you are situated that will determine the amount of sweat and effort you will exert on a job.
Again folks this is life in the big city.
