“This feels like the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.” – Stephanie Wilkinson, co-owner Red Hen Restaurant, Lexington Va.

What do Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Paul Ryan and Kirsten Nielsen have in common these days?
They are all personally experiencing the public wrath and sentiments of being part of a Trump White House dedicated to using cruelty, dehumanization and unethical policies to achieve a demagogue’s political ends.
Sanders a political adviser who was appointed White House Press Secretary to President Donald Trump in July 2017 is viewed as Trump’s “mouth piece” and spokesperson and has herself misrepresented the facts to he public.
Wilkinson who labels herself a non confrontational knew — and believed — that Sarah Huckabee Sanders worked in the service of an “inhumane and unethical” administration. That she publicly defended the president’s cruelest policies, and that could not stand.
“I’m not a huge fan of confrontation,” Wilkinson said. “I have a business, and I want the business to thrive.
On another front Speaker of the House Paul Ryan was denied a photo-op with Canadian comic and actor Paul Rogen who when asked by Ryan for a family photo told him quite bluntly “No way man… I hate what you’re doing to the country.”
“I hate what you’re doing to the country at this moment, and I’m counting the days until you no longer have one iota of the power that you currently have,” Rogen said he told Ryan.
And on yet another political front Kirsten Michele Nielsen, an American attorney and national security expert serving as the 6th and current United States Secretary of Homeland Security since 2017 was heckled at a Mexican family restaurant.
Protesters entered a Mexican restaurant in D.C. on Tuesday evening to heckle her and her dinner date.. She appeared to sit quietly with her head down for more than 10 minutes listening to the protesters chanting “Shame!” and “End family separation!”
It is amazing that these Trump affiliated figures have mentally separated their job responsibilities from their personal and moral obligations.
They are somehow hoping that their political alignments with the president and their supposed support for him and his policies will be overlooked as they go about their private and personal lives.
It is tragic that their professional career obligations and commitments are blinding them to the evil that is currently radiating from the Oval Office.
Oh say, can’t they see? – gc
