“Weekly Prompts” – a hybrid approach

“There is no doubt that creativity is the most important human resource of all. Without it there would be no progress, and we would be forever repeating the same patterns.” — Edward de Bono

A short time ago Word Press abandoned its long time practice of providing weekly photo prompts and daily word prompts to creative camera bugs and wordsmiths.

A number of folks who relied on this platform for direction, guidance and more importantly a viewing audience became depressed and felt betrayed by WP’s abandonment of them and their social media outlet.

I too became despondent and was thinking of abandoning my site “The Main Aisle” (https://themainaisle.com) and would search for a more user-friendly alternative.

Susan Walker “NAN’S FARM – INSIDE OUT” (https://nansfarm.net/) was more optimistic of the change. She saw it as a chance to be more creative.

After some discussion we decided to team up and create an alternative site “Weekly Prompts” (https://weeklyprompts.com) and described it as “your second chance to be creative”.

The site is still in its infancy stage of development but it does offer a hybrid alternative to the more formal approach used by Word Press .

It will be a weekly prompt aimed at writers, poets and photographers who still crave the opportunity to present their work to the public.

Please feel free to visit this site and discover if it is your cup of tea.

Your input is always welcome.

Susan and myself hope you will visit the site and use it as your new platform of expression.

Good luck in your blogging careers. – gc

This week’s word prompt is :” Hybrid”

  1. Cool idea, count me in. Be sure to send your link to ceenphotograohy.com where she is going to compile a list of Challenge sites. The daily post may be gone, but there’s no stopping the innovators!
