Let NRA foot bill for school protection

“The difference between school and life? In school, you’re taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you’re given a test that teaches you a lesson.” –  Tom Bodett

Who  would have the most to lose and yet the most to gain financially if Congress earmarked a few billion dollars to finance research into the research and development aspect into the creation of Artificial Intelligent robots to protect our schools from hostile actions from unstable citizens?

The National Rifle Association for one could breathe a lot easier knowing that an outraged public, concerned politicians and others were no longer hounding their members to turn in their automatic rifles.

President Trump might also encourage such a bold venture since his public mumblings of disgust encourage the use of armed guards in every school throughout the land.

His current inactions on raising the legal age to purchase weapons of mass destruction have fallen by the wayside. The number of such school shooting incidents has risen dramatically over the past number of months.

Over the years the American tax payer has witnessed their hard-earned dollars earmarked towards such hair brained projects as President Reagan’s Star Wars Defense Initiative which would have placed platforms in space to protect the country from attack from foreign interests.

It has come to the point that students are only waiting for the Grim Reaper to appear at their school and create chaos and death down their own halls of learning.

One female student in the recent Santa Fe shooting looked dejected as she told reporters that “the thought of being shot in my own school is no longer an impossibility. It is now only a matter of time.”

It is time to get real Mr. Trump. It is time to earmark a few billion dollars from your inane Mexican Wall project and let some imaginative A.I. companies start working on creating androids which would not only protect life and limb of defenseless students but also lessen the need to place armed teachers and ex military men in harm’s way defending unarmed students and teachers.

On the upside the robotic guards could also perform traffic control, lunch hour monitoring and 24/7 protection for the property.

The writing is on the wall Donald and it is time you open your eyes and take some positive steps to ensure public safety. – gc
