This whale was open to public scrutiny

“People say ‘It’s as plain as the nose on your face.’ But how much of the nose on your face can you see, unless someone holds a mirror up to you?” Isaac Asimov, I, Robot

On a recent visit to West Edmonton Mall I noticed this frolicking whale and curious onlookers notice that the once bustling Sears department store is no longer in the picture. Folks used to pass by this exhibit on their way into the mall or the store. Now it seems that this once popular tourist attraction will be moved to another spot in the mall. Bankruptcy has a way of destroying the public’s fantasy. The whaler’s cry of “There she blows” will now be silenced at least at this location. – gc

  1. I am waiting for our Sears to close, also. Why they rebuilt this ‘lifestyle center’ with Sears and JC Penney as the anchor stores is beyond me. Both on the brink…..
