He expected things to stack up nicely

“I’m not in this world to live up to your expectations and you’re not in this world to live up to mine.” ― Bruce Lee

I usually dread Saturday morning shopping: the pushy crowds; shoving people and under stocked grocery shelves. Today however I was pleasantly surprised when I noticed this youngster Daniel and his family standing in line behind me avidly converting the usually mundane checkout experience into a game of strategy. Each time the conveyor belt moved his family’s order forward I expected him to give up his quest. This only encouraged him to try harder. A tip of the hat to this youth for his optimism and resolve. – gc
